Mable Foundation

The Mable Foundation is a public benevolent institute that helps individuals, community groups, and organisations foster independence for older people and those with a disability.

In 2025, the Mable Foundation, and grants program, will be redeveloped to offer greater support to our community.

2024 grant winners

Christopher Smith, Shared Reading NSW

“Through the support of Mable’s 2024 Community Grant program, the ‘Life, the Universe, and Stories’ project will host reading clubs in four local community venues. The primary goal of the clubs is to reduce and overcome social isolation, particularly amongst elderly residents who live alone and those struggling with illnesses that make them susceptible to feelings of loneliness.”

Jacquie Hatt, Acting CEO of the MJD Foundation

“While MJD is found all over the world and affects people of different races and ethnicities, Aboriginal Australians living in the Northern Territory have a prevalence of significantly greater than the international average'. With the support of a Mable Community Grant, the MJD foundation hosted the Ngukurr & Groote Eylandt  Men's Camp for 20 clients living with MJD. Attendees experienced cultural and educational activities, such as on-country fishing, healing ceremonies, bush tucker cook-ups, and workshops. It also provided access to vital information, services, and medical treatment.”
