Mable Foundation
The Mable Foundation is a public benevolent institute that helps individuals, community groups, and organisations foster independence and inclusion for older people and those with a disability.
The Foundation provides this support through our annual Mable Community Grants program, where four grants of $10,000 each are available.
Applications for 2025 are now closed.

2024 grant winners

“Through the support of Mable’s 2024 Community Grant program, the ‘Life, the Universe, and Stories’ project will host reading clubs in four local community venues. The primary goal of the clubs is to reduce and overcome social isolation, particularly amongst elderly residents who live alone and those struggling with illnesses that make them susceptible to feelings of loneliness.”
Christopher Smith, Shared Reading NSW

“Our Mable Community Grant will fund a safe and effective physical activity program for seniors, allowing participants to maintain and improve their functional abilities. The weekly program includes transportation to and from home, face-to-face classes run by our qualified facilitator, and a complimentary morning tea that follows each class.”
Carissa Zielonka, Southwest Community Transport - EMAA program

“We are thrilled to be able to provide training and develop a resource kit for support workers and carers on how best to support those with vision loss thanks to our Mable Community Grant. Our project, ‘A vision through the window to a world of inclusion,’ aims to help those with vision loss live more active and socially connected lives.”

“While MJD is found all over the world and affects people of different races and ethnicities, Aboriginal Australians living in the Northern Territory have a prevalence of significantly greater than the international average'. With the support of a Mable Community Grant, the MJD foundation hosted the Ngukurr & Groote Eylandt Men's Camp for 20 clients living with MJD. Attendees experienced cultural and educational activities, such as on-country fishing, healing ceremonies, bush tucker cook-ups, and workshops. It also provided access to vital information, services, and medical treatment.”
